The Risheehat garden is located just 14 kilometers east of the Darjeeling city area, overlooking the city of Darjeeling and the beautiful Kanchanjangha peak to the north of the estate. Risheehat literally means „house of saints“. The garden was created by British planters in the mid-19th century and was known as Tsering Bagan due to the local population of the Tsering tribe. The garden was divided into two main divisions in 1955 – Risheehat Main Division and Liza Hill Division. The gardens now produce more than 180 tons of certified organic tea per year.
