A traditional Japanese set for matcha preparation.
Chawan is the bowl in which the tea is prepared. It is handmade and takes its name from the designs or colors it includes on top.
Chasen is the name of the whisk that has been made from a single piece of bamboo and that with specific movements of the hand stirs the tea evenly.
Chasaku is the measuring spoon that is made of bamboo and usually has a cartilage in the middle.
Furui is the name of the sieve that, with its use, dissolves any lumps that have formed and make it difficult to whisk.
Hishaku is the special, made of bamboo, vessel that resembles a ladle and is used to transfer hot water to the matcha preparation bowl and to clean the utensils.
Kusenaoshi is the base on which the whisk is placed to keep its shape after use.
