Description
The bluish white porcelain of Sousou features an appealing celadon glaze over a transparent white porcelain base. This tea set, consisting of a 350 ml teapot and two 150 ml tea cups.
The teapot is easy to hold and pour, and even the strainer is made of porcelain with hints of the artist’s craftsmanship hidden throughout.
The form seems to evoke a sense of breathing due to the designer, a ceramic artist, having produced the original by hand.
The Sousou series is based on the work of Fujii Noriyuki, a ceramic artist from Seto. The originals for each piece in the series were made entirely by his hand. The series is particularly notable for the swaying forms and the delicate rim of the mouth. The use of specially prepared glaze gives the pieces a fresh and transparent bluish white porcelain coloring with depth.
